The experiments were carried out to identify optimum condition of medium for growth of seedlings of Aerides japonicum obtained by seeding in hitro via tests on plant growth regulators concns, sucrose and agar concns added to hyponex 3 g/ℓ and peptone 4 g/ℓ, and pH value of the medium.
Suitable concns of plant growth regulators added to basal medium with 40 g/ℓ sucrose and 6 g/ℓ agar were identified as 0.1 ㎎/ℓ NAA and 0.01 ㎎/ℓ kinetin, and pH 4.5 was the optimum for stimulating growth of seedlings.
The results obtained through the experiment I and II for asymbiotic germination and growth of seedlings of Aerides japonicum, so far were summarized as follows.
